Conduct Research with WIACT

WIACT provides a field site for students, faculty, and international volunteers who want to research indigenous languages and history, as well as the ecological and cultural traditions of the African savannah.

WIACTS hosts international volunteers, study tours, and Route-to-My-Origin visitors to Ghana with an emphasis on rural Savannah region villages and traditions. The northern half of Ghana is the poorest area of the country, and tours bring new business opportunities for local families.

We promote exchange of ideas between visitors and local community members so that we can learn from each other:  Visitors to the region discover a very different and much more positive picture of Africa than typically portrayed in Western media, and local communities like the new ideas and opportunities brought by visitors.

So be prepared to share from your culture with us, and we will share ours with you!
